Feature Business: AJF Racing, LLC

AJF Racing Mission

To compete successfully in a professional auto racing environment, to fulfill the goals of our sponsors and customers while building the support of loyal fans.

AJF Racing Overview

AJF Racing LLC is a Motorsports Marketing / Advertising company providing clients with access to the highly desirable demographic, brand loyal motorsports fan base and general consumers through the use of attention grabbing racecars in competition and at events.

AJF Racing was formed in 1997 in Finksburg, Maryland by Andrew J. Frustaci, driver and owner of a local stock car team competing at Maryland and Pennsylvania race tracks. Andrew, a former auto cross racer and a veteran of the automotive industry, decided to form the auto racing, motorsports marketing company as a result of his knowledge and interest in the stock car racing business. AJF Racing began with specializations in race car marketing, fabrication, set up and competition.

Over the following years, Andrew found his business advancing rapidly and many new doors opening up. In 2001, Andrew, and fellow racers Jason Smith of Smith Bros. Racing and James Kirby of K&D Racing, combined efforts by merging to form AJF Racing LLC.

AJF Racing LLC competitively fields dirt and asphalt race cars in multiple divisions at speedways in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia. The team has experience with brand marketing and competition in numerous divisions and sanctioning bodies including: Dirt Stock, Dirt Late Model, NASCAR Late Model, ASA, USAR Pro Cup, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Today, AJF Racing continues to grow and is currently performing race car marketing programs, competition preparation, fabrication of racing related components and racecar set-ups, and is consulting several teams in all aspects of auto racing.

AJF Racing Competition and House Cars

Dirt Late Model

Dirt late model racing historically has been grassroots of automobile stock car racing in America. While national series like World of Outlaws and Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series tear up the speedways touring all over the United States, the majority of dirt track racing takes place in small town America at local dirt tracks.

Late model race teams compete in lightweight, purpose built, 500 plus horsepower, full bodied dirt racing machines, viewed by racing fans as one of the most action packed levels of racing in the world.

Each weekend from February to November, arguably the most loyal of all motorsports fans gather at the local dirt tracks to watch hometown heroes race for the win. The dirt ovals that range from a quarter to three-quarters of a mile in length, pack the stands with yearly attendance totals in many cases surpassing the admission numbers of national super speedways.

AJF Racing fields the No. 50 Limited Late Model with driver Jason Smith competing at speedways in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Support for the No. 50 car comes from ATI Performance Products, Speedesign Custom Graphics, Wallace Engine Company, John McDonough and Associates, Immaculate Detailing of Baltimore, 140 Mini Storage, NY J&P Restaurant and a partnership with Voices for Children of Carroll County and In The Pits Media.

Dirt Quarter Midget

Quarter Midget racing is the auto racing equivalent to little league baseball. Starting as young as four years old, boys and girls belt into a fully roll-caged open wheel race car powered by a small restricted single cylinder engine. The tracks are usually around one-twentieth of a mile long and can be dirt, asphalt or concrete. As the child grows physically and in ability, the restrictions are removed and the competition increases. By the time the child reaches 16 they are ready to move on to bigger racing opportunities and are no longer allowed to compete in Quarter Midget racing.

AJF Racing fields several dirt Quarter Midget race cars competing in Maryland and Pennsylvania racing facilities. Driver Wyatt McClester drives the AJF Racing Quarter Midget machines and works with supporting sponsors: ATI Performance Products, Speedesign Custom Graphics, Mafia Performance, Owings Mills Shell, Auto Correct Car Care and Mudgett’s Auto Body.

Local, regional and even national sponsors are capitalizing on the appeal of the local racing experience. These sponsors see the value of participating in a price effective form of motorsports marketing with measurable return on their investment. Companies of all sizes are getting more benefit than in any other form of racing from local racers who need their support to compete on a weekly basis.

The AJF Racing teams provide these companies with a medium to gain exposure to the loyal fans through both on and off track marketing programs. Each year, AJF Racing participates in numerous car shows, carnivals, county fairs, parades, grand openings and of course races, giving valuable exposure to sponsoring companies.

AJF competes at historic racetracks such as Lincoln Speedway, Williams Grove Speedway, Susquehanna Speedway Park, Winchester Speedway and Potomac Speedway. Hagerstown Speedway, which is the home track of AJF Racing, is known as “The Capital of Dirt Track Racing” and is the most well-known dirt late model track in the mid-Atlantic region. The affordable, friendly and exciting atmosphere has helped the popularity of local dirt racing grow as a favorite family weekend activity.
