Renting Online vs. In Person

Rent Online vs In Person Feature Image
We are living in a world where almost anything can be done with the click of a mouse or the swipe of a finger. At 140 Mini Storage, you can rent a storage unit completely online! Everything from selecting your unit size and type to signing the rental agreement and securing your gate access code – you can do it all from home (or anywhere with an internet connection) on a computer, smartphone or tablet with ease. Let’s take a look at the pros and cons of renting online versus renting at the store.

Renting Online

Many of us were slightly skeptical when we were first able to shop online to make purchases. As time went on, we became excited to do our holiday shopping online and even have our purchases gift wrapped and shipped directly to the recipient – saving us tons of time.

The same goes for renting storage units online. If you are someone who prefers to shop online, hates phone calls or are just simply are out of time; then renting online is for you! Here is the process in a few easy steps:

  • Pull up our website from any computer, smart phone or tablet with internet access.
  • Click the “Rent Unit 24/7!” Button.
  • Start by selecting the correct unit size for your storage needs.
  • Select a third-party insurance policy – there are several to choose from.
  • Electronically sign the rental agreement.
  • Submit your payment with a credit or debit card.

Rent Online 24/7After payment has been processed, which is typically just a few moments, you will receive an email confirmation of your rental. This email serves as your receipt and includes your gate access code, storage unit number and a map of the property so you can easily locate your unit. This online rental process is very convenient for our customers because it is live 24/7/365 – meaning you can rent your storage unit at any time on any day (even holidays), whether or not our rental office is open.

Renting In Person

Renting online not for you? We will always have a property manager on site at least five days a week with convenient office hours. You can call and speak with the property manager first to see what you need to do if that makes you more comfortable. In fact, you can visit our website and check out our prices ahead of time as well. You can even reserve a self storage unit online or over the phone, and plan to visit our rental office when it is convenient for you to complete the rental.

Property Manager On SiteThe rental process is basically the same. You will talk with the property manager and decide on which size storage unit you will need and select a third-party insurance plan to protect your belongings. You will then sign the rental agreement and provide payment with cash, check or credit card and get your gate access code. You can have the receipt printed out or emailed to you (or both) for your records. The property manager will then take you to your storage unit so you know where it is located and off you go!

Renting a self storage unit online or in person are both easy and convenient – it really just depends on your preferences as to which one you will like and prefer. There really isn’t one that is better than the other overall. You end up with the same outcome – a clean storage unit at a secure property where you can store your valuables and feel confident they will be protected and stay safe.

If you are ready to find your storage solution, you can reserve or rent a unit online now or contact us for more information. You can also give our property manager a call and she will be happy to help you with your storage needs.
